Spring and summer were amazing. We hosted 10 Korean interns from Sarang Community Church in LA. It was the third year we have partnered with this church. We also had two local interns, who grew up through our Bible Clubs. Der graduated from high school this past spring (see picture). She is attending Fresno State this fall, working and volunteering with us each week. She is Hmong.
Xiomara, who is Hispanic, works in a business that she and 3 other teens own, she takes classes at City College and just became the Youth Pastor at her church plant. Both of these girls are on our leadership team for Youth and Young Adults. They serve with joy and enthusiasm of the young and it is a pleasure to be mentoring them.
Our youth leadership team continues to grow and learn. The guy and girl leadership will be alternating leading our large group meetings for the fall. We took over 100 kids and families to summer camp, day camp and family camp. Hundred’s of miles were driven, many in Tulare Community Church’s bus. We pray hard over these events. Sometimes we only have a few weeks with a child before they move from our streets. We plant the seeds and leave it to God to watch over his word in their lives. There have been many times when we will have an adult come up to us and share how they attended Bible clubs as kids. They are leaders in their churches, holding jobs and setting new patterns for their children. It is amazing to know that Bible clubs are having generational impacts still.
