New Los Angeles Church Plant

Cedric Nelms, an associate pastor with “The Rock” Church in South Los Angeles, is being called to plant Chosen Generation Fellowship Church in the South Los Angeles community.  The name "Chosen Generation" is inspired from I Peter 2:9, which says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

The vision of “Chosen Generation” is to be a multigenerational and multicultural church.  Los Angeles is a city with incredible diversity, where people groups from all over the world have come.  They want to be a church that can reflect this diversity in their gatherings and worship.

Pastor Cedric worked with the lead pastor of "The Rock", Peter Watts, in developing the vision and target area for the new church plant.  Their target area, which is between four major freeways, is a microcosm of Los Angeles as a whole.  They are casting their nets far and wide within this region to be open to where the Lord might open up hearts and households to faith.  "The Rock" will serve as the mother church.  Pastor Cedric and his family have been part of "The Rock" for many years.  Now, as a World Impact associate, Cedric Nelms sets out to fulfill the goal of World Impact: to plant new churches in unique and under-resourced communities.
